Saturday, April 15 is tax day. If your inclination is to say aw shucks (or something worse) fear not because the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group has your back. No, they are not going into creative accounting. Rather, they are continuing to do what they do best — keeping the waters clean and tasty and full of shellfish. And on Saturday, they are throwing their annual benefit party at the Chilmark Community Center. So instead of bemoaning your lack of tax deductions, you can ease the pain with a buck a piece raw bar, chowder from the Food Truck, music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and a large silent auction.

Proceeds help the shellfish group further its mission to preserve and expand the Island’s shellfish resources and improve water quality.

Tickets are $30 at the door.
