The VTA has created easy access to the entire Island. The individuals who are running the service have provided the public with inexpensive, precise, dependable transportation. There is an Island population who is extremely grateful for a means to get to work, the hospital and social activities and enabling handicapped individuals to travel freely.

The bus drivers come from all walks of life, lifelong Islanders, geologists, school teachers, students, soldiers, policemen, government workers, foreign nationals, who work hard to get everyone where they are going.

There is a small minority of riders who take the bus for granted, disrespecting the rights of everyone to ride a clean safe bus. Individuals who are inebriated or drugged put shoes on the seats, slashing seats. At the bus stop shelters there are cigarette butts, chewing gum, graffiti, dog waste receptacles, and trash. Thoughtless acts.

The hard workers of the town have to clean up these areas. It’s a privilege to have such a great service. Long before the VTA someone had to walk the entire Island. The VTA continues on. Please respect them.
