The ferry Martha’s Vineyard underwent minor repairs late Saturday after striking a gangway in Woods Hole.

In a statement Sunday, the Steamship Authority said the mishap occurred at about 7:40 p.m. when the ferry was backing out of the slip in Woods Hole for an evening trip to Oak Bluffs.

The ferry struck one of two manually-operated passenger gangways, the statement said, breaking three windows on the mezzanine level. Three passengers reported minor injuries from broken glass but did not require shoreside medical treatment, the statement said.

The ferry continued on its trip to Oak Bluffs and returned to Woods Hole Saturday night, where repairs were made. The 6 a.m. trip to the Vineyard Sunday was cancelled, but after that the ferry returned to service and resumed her normal schedule.
