What’s up with all the golf carts on Vineyard roads this summer? Over the past month, I’ve seen golf carts being driven up and down Beach Road, one with young children (unrestrained) in the front seat. Just now, I passed one overloaded with people — two in the front and two in the backseat, facing backwards, with their legs dangling over the road. How on earth is this safe? Or legal? And who is renting these things to Island visitors? I can’t believe I, or anyone else, needs to ask these questions.
