Animal Lives Matter Editors, Vineyard Gazette: At this time of year we are inundated with stories and photographs of animals being killed, their bodies being displayed beside a smiling hunter (I would not say ‘sportsman’ as it is not a ‘sport’ to hide in the woods and ambush an innocent animal. A ‘sport’ would be soccer, basketball, etc), as well animals being walked to their death (how amusing).

There are those of us who believe animals have a right to live their lives in peace. We do not believe in killing animals and are aware that there are literally hundreds of other food choices in our world today. There is no need to take an animal’s life.

As Gandhi said “Peace begins on your plate.”
