The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society has hired Oak Bluffs resident Amy Coffey as their new special events coordinator. She has already begun planning the 2018 agricultural fair.

Ms. Coffey has worked for NBC sports in planning for the Olympics and has a long history of coordinating the Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby.

"We are so excited to have Amy on board," agricultural society president Brian Athearn said in a press release. "She has the right combination of skills to blend Island traditions with new ideas to make the fair a great summer event in the years ahead."
