The women’s committee of We Stand Together/Estamos Todos Juntos will celebrate International Women’s Day March 8 with a second annual gathering at Five Corners in Vineyard Haven from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

All are welcome to come and hold signs and posters. The gathering aims to honor achievements and ongoing social justice and human rights work by women as part of International Women’s Day, which was first observed March 8, 1911.

This year’s theme is Press for Progress. The event will not be held in heavy rain or snow.

We Stand Together meets every other Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the West Tisbury library. The next meetings are March 8 and March 22. For more information about the women’s committee visit mvwomenscommittee.com.
