It’s great to see that the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group’s phragmites harvest project is gaining steam.

In California and other states, a similar bio-remediation approach is taken regarding harmful algae blooms. By means of low-impact mechanical and hydraulic equipment, the harmful, oxygen-depleting algae is removed from water bodies — allowing them to “breathe” freely again and their native beneficial life forms to flourish once more.
