Breaker for steering pump on Martha’s Vineyard is tripped. Ferry is pulled from service, but remains in Vineyard Haven.

Tuesday, March 27, 5 p.m.

An alarm code goes off on the Woods Hole control panel. The ferry is taken to the Fairhaven maintenance facility.

Martha’s Vineyard is cleared to return to service.

Coast Guard clears Woods Hole to resume service.

SeaStreak fast ferry Whaling City Express completes temporary service.

Island Home is scheduled to return to service, but is held over in Fairhaven maintenance facility.

SeaStreak fast ferry Whaling City Express is brought online to carry passengers only; freight boats Sankaty and Katama fill in some runs.

Indicator light goes off in the console of the Woods Hole as it prepares to depart from Vineyard Haven. Ferry pulled from service.

Martha’s Vineyard pulled from service because of a generator issue.

Martha's Vineyard returns to service after being cleared by the Coast Guard.

Woods Hole returns to service after being cleared by the Coast Guard.

Martha’s Vineyard loses power to both engines 15 minutes after leaving Vineyard Haven and has to be towed to shore. It is taken out of service.

Friday, March 16, 10:45 a.m.

Woods Hole is pulled from service because of an operating system problem.

Thursday, March 15, 9 a.m.

Woods Hole runs aground in Vineyard Haven harbor on its way back to port. The ferry successfully backs off and remains in service.

Martha’s Vineyard returns after a five-month, $18.5 million refurbishment. though northeaster forces cancellation of most trips.

Island Home is taken out of service for routine maintenance, scheduled to return March 24.
