Island Grown Schools is launching a new volunteer summer service program for rising ninth graders. The Youth Food Activist program will engage recent eighth grade graduates in helping harvest and deliver food from farms for those in need in our community, maintaining school gardens, cooking with fresh, locally grown foods, and doing service projects on local farms.

The free program will run from July 9 through August 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday. Students can apply to serve with the YFA program for one week or more.
