It is Monday night and the sky was open all day. It was like an October day and yes the heat was on in the house. It looks like it is going to be an interesting month.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Jonathan De Oliveira, Kyle Levy and Brenda Sampaio, who all celebrated June 2; Kaleb Hatt and Engracia Scheller, June 3; Neyla Abreu, June 7; Allie Branca, James Gould-Lamont, Cassandra Silva and Lejaun Webb who all celebrate their day June 8.

This past Sunday the back room of the Wharf was the place for sharing memories and saying so long to Jane and Dick Barbini. They have sold their home and are moving to be closer to their children, Lisa and her husband Fran, and their son Ryan and his wife Chelsea and their children Tyler and Phoebe who are very busy in sports and other school activities that Dick and Jane do not want to miss.

It was bittersweet as we are so happy they will be closer to their children, but their connection to the Friday Night Gang, their work family and their golfing friends is strong and they will be terribly missed by all. We wish them luck and love in the new phase of their life and hope they will come to visit.

Dave and Colleen Alton have just returned from a fabulous trip overseas. They rented a room to a young lady from Moldova and the young lady was just married and the Alton’s traveled to the wedding. They had a great time and Dave said they were shuttled to the wedding by bus and they left on the last bus after dancing till 2 a.m. Dave said he had not stayed up that late in a very long time but it was worth it.

The travels did not end there. They traveled to Vienna for five days, Budapest for three days, two days in Heidelberg. There was one more city they visited for five days but I neglected to get the correct spelling and so could not find it.

I ran into Christine White the other day and I found out I was living in the dark when it came to her. I asked how the pizza business was doing and she told me she has been semi-retired for two months now. Seems she has moved on in her retirement and is now working at the Mod Spa in Edgartown at the Triangle. So she said to those who know her to stop by and see her and learn about massages.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
