Illumination, the Agricultural Fair, the Oak Bluffs Fireworks, it’s all happening this coming week, the end of summer bonanza that keeps on giving.

The big events begin on Wednesday, August 15 with the Grand Illumination at the campgrounds in Oak Bluffs. The night starts with a community sing and then at dusk the porch lamps get lit.

The next day the Agricultural Fair in West Tisbury begins, running through Sunday, August 19. The fairgrounds are open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 19. Rides, funnel cakes, games of chance, livestock shows, woodsman contests, griddle tosses, it’s old-fashioned fun under the sun and stars.

And for a bit of event competition, the annual Oak Bluffs fireworks take place on Friday, August 17 off Ocean Park. This firework show cannot be beaten. Honest.

So, let the end of summer games begin.
