On Sunday, August 12 a hard decision awaits churchgoers. At Union Chapel, beginning at 10 a.m. Otis Moss 3rd is the guest preacher. Reverend Moss is currently the senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Ill. and a popular speaker around the world.

But here’s the problem: also beginning at 10 a.m. is Rev. Raphael Warnock, delivering his annual summer sermon at the West Tisbury Congregational Church. Reverend Warnock is the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former church home of Martin Luther King, and a popular speaker around the world.

Thankfully, there is a third way. Later that afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m., both preachers will take part in a discussion at the West Tisbury Church, called Bridging The Deep Divides: A Conversation on Faith, Struggle and Making A Way Forward.

The talk is sponsored by Auburn Seminary, a 200 year-old leadership development and research institute based in New York city, and also includes Dr. Prabhjot Singh and Lisa Anderson.

Whet your appetite for Sunday’s words with the peach festival on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the West Tisbury Congregational Church.
