This is a love letter to the Vineyard Gazette.

Your publication is just magnificent. I am an old graphic designer (now a Hospice chaplain) from Charleston, S.C. (by way of New York city, London and Providence) who has sadly gotten used to the declining quality of print journalism in the USA. It is senseless to pine for the artistry of the past which is now but a memory to be rediscovered only in the pages of old Graphis, Print and CA magazines, but I must tell you how joyful it has been to discover your publication which is the equal in every way to the best print journalism I remember fondly. From your large-scale format and the wonderful graphics and typography to the superb photographs and great articles it is a wonder to behold and I am very grateful for the work you all do. In fact, although my trips to Oak Bluffs are never more than annual, I have ordered a subscription today so I can enjoy your publication’s gifts every week until I return again. Many thanks.
