Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven has called its new pastor.

Rev. Stephen Harding will preside over his first service at the church on Sunday, Nov. 4, beginning at 10 a.m.

Reverend Harding has recently served as the interim pastor at St. Peter’s Church in Manhattan. He also served as the disaster response coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of New York and as the Protestant chaplain for the New York city Fire Department.

Reverend Harding was active in the World Trade Center recovery effort, and is the editor of a disaster response manual for religious leaders in New York city and the editor and contributing author of a disaster response training course for chaplains.

He also has Vineyard roots that go back to 1911.

Grace Church is located at 36 Woodlawn avenue in Vineyard Haven.
