Crescent Moon Next Week

A thin crescent moon appears low in the southwestern sky on Tuesday evening. The moon will be close to the horizon and visible only to those with a clear view of the west.

This weekend will be moonless. The moon is in the new moon phase on Monday.

Some may see the crescent moon as early as Tuesday evening, but most will see it Wednesday night when it is higher sky.

Venus and Jupiter, the two brightest planets in the eastern sky at dawn, are parting ways. Whatever conversation they had in January is over. Each morning they will appear farther apart. Jupiter is appearing higher in the sky, while Venus is moving close to the rising sun.
