Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard would like to thank Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation for the opportunity to harvest materials from the Champ Home on North Neck Road on Chappaquiddick. The house and property have been donated to Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation and the land will be returned to its natural state and become a Sheriff’s Meadow’s property.
In addition to building homes, Habitat for Humanity harvests new and gently used building materials which are used in homes we build or that Habitat sells to the public, keeping building materials out of the landfill and helping others. Habitat had several weeks’ access to the Chappaquiddick property to harvest lumber, doors, appliances, fixtures, furniture and many other items. All the materials will find new homes, stay out of the landfill and help affordable housing on the Island.
