The sun is shining, it is almost warm and everyone is smiling. How can we complain? As predicted the trees are bursting, the grass is growing and the flowers are blooming. Sorry, allergy sufferers, we have been waiting a long time for this weather!
Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Pedro Alves who celebrated May 18, Sebastian Garcia Ortiz on May 19, Jonas Deoliveria and Salomao Marcal, May 20, Lukas Ryder on May 22, and Cayden Bressett who celebrated his day May 23.
Memorial Day weekend is here and the people and traffic have doubled. We’re going to need to remind ourselves to leave earlier to get to where we’re going, because it is harder to get out of both intersections and parking lots. Remember to keep an eye out for extra activity along the bike paths.
Congratulations to Jaqueline da Silva who graduated Thursday from Cape Cod Community College with a nursing degree. I know for a fact that she studied very hard for this and was an early morning commuter on either the Steamship Authority or the Patriot. Congratulations, Jackie, you are going to make a wonderful nurse.
As usual this is a busy time at the nursery. The flowers are starting to bloom and people are happy to get some happiness therapy. Also the landscapers are hurrying to get their clients’ gardens and pots together. I love to see all the different arrangements and colors that different people pick out or prefer.
With Memorial Day upon us many are getting ready for opening their houses, having family come down, cooking out, or whatever else comes up on this busy weekend. At some point I hope you’ll all take a moment to remember those who served our country so that we might enjoy the freedoms we are so fortunate to have, those who gave up their tomorrows so that we could have ours.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
