The Film Center in Vineyard Haven is hosting a special screening of The Vault on Saturday, June 15. The film is based on a true story that took place in Providence, R.I. in 1975 about a group of small time crooks stealing from the mob. It stars Chaz Palminteri, Don Johnson and Theo Rossi.

The movie was produced by seasonal Vineyard resident, and owner of Washashore Beer, Chad Verdi who will attend the screening for a Q&A with the director Tom DeNucci and editor Zared Shai — who when not editing movies makes great tacos at his restaurant Backyard Taco in Edgartown.

Saturday’s screening is at 7:30 p.m.

The film center also opens its annual music film festival on Thursday, June 20 with a screening of the silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc (1929) with a live score by the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra.
