The Martha’s Vineyard Museum is launching Vineyard Voices Three with a reception on Tuesday, July 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the museum. The series of books is created by the museum’s oral history curator Linsey Lee.

Vineyard Voices Three features portraits and stories of 66 Vineyarders, all excerpted from interviews done by Ms. Lee. The people represented chronicle the last 100 years on the Vineyard, from World War II to West Tisbury barn cats, from the Mooncusser to the Marine hospital, all in the voices of fishermen, writers, teachers, musicians and environmentalists.

In conjunction with the book launch, the museum will feature portraits of the subjects along with accompanying audio. Admission is free to the opening, and books will be available for purchase and signing. The exhibit will be on display through August 11.
