HOT! And that is all I can say about this week’s weather.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Judah Levy, who celebrated July 20; Clara Cabral, July 21; Eduardo Marques, July 22; Georgia DeRoche, July 24 and to Aliyah Leavitt, who celebrates her day today, July 26.

At this time of year Carol and Dick Fligor welcome Sue and Ted, from Jacksonville, Fla. They will be celebrating their 34th anniversary August 3rd. Leslye and Andy, from Weston, and Abby, from Burlington, will join in together with Anne and Brad, from Edgartown. There will be an early celebration of Dick’s 83rd birthday August 6th and Brad’s big 60th birthday August 8th.

Okay the big news of the week was the weather. Social media was hopping with people saying they could not remember when it was this hot. Some said they never remember the island being this hot. But the beaches were full, people were looking for shade, the gardens needed extra water, as did the humans and animals.

Of course there were pictures of the snow in January reminding us it could be that cold. I personally like being colder, because you can always get warmer with extra clothes or blankets but if it is hot you can only go so far without getting arrested.

If you are lucky enough to have an air conditioner you are ok but there are those who do not. Being in New England it could be 60 degrees by the end of the week.

Sunday I went to Bob and Gail Avakian’s pool. The Dolby family was there, and of course Derek and Brooke Avakian and their children Cooper and Lillie as well as Shannon and Andy Smith and their children Adie and Andrew. As I sat there watching the kids play in the pool, I was having flashbacks of the parents when they were that age playing at the beach. History sometimes does repeat itself and the kids are here to prove it.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
