Alison A. Fletcher has been named the new director of shoreside operations at the Steamship Authority, the boat line announced this week.

Ms. Fletcher began working for the SSA in 2001 as a seasonal ticket seller. She later served as a janitor and dock worker before becoming an associate terminal agent in Woods Hole in 2015, a press release said. In recent months she has been working in the operations department.

She will oversee the day-to-day activities of the terminals, parking lot operations and reservations teams operations, and will assist in development of operating schedules, expansion of training programs and the transition to a process-based environment.

She succeeds former operations director Mark K. Rozum, who was recently promoted to treasurer/comptroller for the boat line.

She lives in Mattapoisett.
