The Steamship Authority information technology director has left, the boat line confirmed this week.

Mary Claffey was no longer employed as of Jan. 27, SSA communications director Sean Driscoll said.

As IT director, Ms. Claffey was responsible for the SSA website, which crashed for several hours at the outset of summer auto reservations last month.

The website also collapsed at the start of summer reservations in 2018.

Mr. Driscoll declined to provide further information. Ms. Claffey’s departure follows by one month the departure of the boat line’s longtime director of maintenance and engineering, Carl Walker, and the elimination of his position.
