After an employee at the Steamship Authority’s Woods Hole terminal was reportedly exposed to a person who has tested positive for Covid-19, the boat line announced it would close the temporary terminal building for a thorough cleaning tonight.

The facility will be closed to the public following the 6:15 departure of the ferry Woods Hole and will reopen Tuesday in time for the first scheduled departure of the day at 6 a.m.

The cleaning is being performed by Moran Environmental Recovery using hospital-grade disinfectants, according to the statement from communications director Sean Driscoll, who wrote “Out of an abundance of caution, the temporary terminal building cleaning was ordered for the protection of the Authority’s customers and employees.”

The terminal is to reopen Tuesday morning in time for the first scheduled departure of the day, the 6 a.m. departure of the M/V Woods Hole.
