The South Shore Community Action Council has extended to May 29 the deadline for households to apply for its fuel assistance program.

Fuel assistance is available for households with incomes of from no more than $37,360 for a single individual to no more than $83,341 for a family of five. Eligibility for fuel assistance also provides 12 months of discounts on utility bills and elibibility for free weatherization and free repairs, according to an announcement from the council.
