I'm Your Venus

The brightest planet in the morning sky is Venus and it is not alone. You can see it high in the eastern sky an hour before sunrise or even earlier as it is rising in the east. The planet is in the zodiacal constellation Taurus.

Tomorrow morning take a look and you’ll see a thin crescent moon just above the horizon. It is a truly thin crescent moon and it is below and some distance from Venus. If visibility is good look even closer to the horizon and you’ll see the elusive planet Mercury.

It is an impressive lineup of celestial objects in our morning sky.

If you had an impressive telescope and looked at Venus you’d see the distant planet also has a crescent shape. Venus is 49 million miles away and getting farther away. Mercury is 77 million miles away
