A pair of sold-out audiences on Martha's Vineyard will likely be the last to see Julie Taymor's new film, The Glorias, on a big screen, the director said Tuesday.

Speaking at Featherstone Center for the Arts before an outdoor screening presented by the Martha's Vineyard Film Society, Ms. Taymor said the movie will be released on Amazon Prime Sept. 30, allowing for more than a month of online viewing before the presidential election.

The Glorias had been slated for a Sept. 25 theatrical release before this week's announcement by distributor Roadshow Attractions, according to Variety and other film industry reports. Amazon Prime will be the exclusive streaming platform for the film, which will also be available for purchase through electronic retail platforms.
