The Martha’s Vineyard Museum board of directors announced this week that it has elected a new slate of officers.

Cathy Weiss will be the new board chairman, taking over for Stever Aubrey who is stepping down after four years at the helm of the museum board.

Paul Schneider has been named vice chairman, David Grain has been named secretary and Meredith Degen is the new board treasurer.

Ms. Weiss brings to the board more than 30 years of experience in the public and philanthropic sectors, including family foundation management, program development and strategic planning, the museum said in the announcement.

She and her family have a home in Chilmark. She also serves on the Emerson College and MANNA boards of directors, as well as on the advisory council for the Greenlight Fund in Philadelphia.

The board changes were approved on August 19.
