Autumnal temperatures have arrived in Aquinnah and none too soon. The constant heat and humidity of summer was getting to be a little too much except for beach-goers. The surf has been up at Squibnocket and as of next Tuesday everyone can enjoy that beach throughout the day when stickers will no longer be required. There are still a few beach plums remaining to be harvested.
Thank you immensely to the firemen of the Tisbury Legion Pumper Fire Engine who reached out and purchased a new Weber grill for the crew at USCG Station Menemsha and delivered it on the pumper fire truck on Tuesday evening, surprising the crew at the station. Legion Pumper members included Darren Welch, Jake Levett, Troy Maciel, and James Stinemire. Rhymes Propane donated a tank of propane. What a wonderful way to end the summer season.

Robert Rosenberg has written Around the Corner to Around the World: A dozen lessons learned running Dunkin Donuts. Mary Wolfson is thrilled to finally be able to share the imminent publication of this book, which is both the history of Dunkin’ Donuts, replete with lots of secrets about making the famous coffee and donuts as well as a business primer on how to grow a company from $10 Million to over $2 Billion in sales over 35 years. She has had the first pass as editor and can honestly say that it’s a good read over and over and over again. Bob and Mary spend their summers in Aquinnah and travel around the world the remainder of the year.
