The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $677,070 for the business week ending on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Aquinnah, where four transactions resulted in $173,500. Four transactions earned $171,180 in Oak Bluffs. Seven transactions earned $135,250 in Tisbury. Four transactions earned $93,800 in Edgartown. Two transactions resulted in $69,200 in Chilmark. And two transactions earned $34,140 in West Tisbury

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
