The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $675,048.02 for the business week ending on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Chilmark, where six transactions resulted in $351,520. Five transactions earned $135,500 in West Tisbury. Five transactions generated $88,200 in Oak Bluffs. Five transactions earned $53,600.02 in Edgartown. Four transactions resulted in $46,228 in Vineyard Haven. No transactions were too place in Aquinnah.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
