On Saturday, Dec. 19, six cars pulled up to my house and parked. Out came all these lovely ladies who call themselves The Good Soles. I remember reading a recent story about how they walk together for comfort and solidarity. Wearing red Santa Claus hats, they began to sing Christmas carols while I safely observed behind my storm door. It was wonderful! I smiled, sang along, and yes, I even cried — tears of joy and happiness. They then gifted me with a Christmas shopping bag filled with all kind of goodies donated by Island businesses, even more good souls. I understand that I was just one of many stops they made to seniors that day.

Thank you, thank you to all who contributed to this occasion. I shall cherish the memory. Stay safe.
