Dick Knight’s life celebration is rescheduled to Sunday Sept. 12. As Daryl says, “the Covid then will be farther behind us and hopefully then everyone will be able to safely hug.”

Traffic on the Chappy Ferry continues to be unpredictable. I would go so far as to call it even more erratic than in months past. Here we are in mid-June and some parts of the day look like July and August, with full boat loads of foot passengers, bicycles and baby buggies. At other times, except for the temperature, you would think that it’s still April. I can, however, assure you that if you take advantage of the late-night closing time of Stop & Shop, the store will be very quiet and there won’t be a ferry line, either.

The Falmouth to Edgartown Ferry begins seven day per week service this Friday, June 18. If you are a regular passenger, you know how convenient this ferry is for Chappaquiddickers. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. If you have visitors coming on foot, think of all of the free time that you will have if you don’t have to go to Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs to pick them up. No waiting in the Chappy Ferry line!

The annual Chappy Point to Point road race is on for Sunday, August 29. Google “Chappy Point to Point” to find the website with all of the information for signing up.
