On July 1, I suffered a traumatic injury at my home in Edgartown. Immediately after my injury, I was assisted by several organizations, including the Edgartown and Oak Bluffs EMTs, the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, a Coast Guard rescue helicopter team and Massachusetts General Hospital.

I want to thank everyone who was involved. To a person, they were professional, highly skilled and caring. Without their expert assistant, my outcome may have been different.

We are all lucky to have these people looking out for us.
