The following letter was sent to the West Tisbury selectmen.

I join the large number of townspeople who believe the West Tisbury select board should pass a regulation that requires Covid vaccinations for all town employees and for employees of any organization in our town that accepts taxpayers’ money.

According to the New York Times: “Local and state governments can enforce a vaccination because of a legal precedent set by the 1905 Supreme Court ruling in Jacobson v. Massachusetts, which let states require their residents get smallpox vaccinations.”

Please consider the well-being of all of our townspeople at the minimal inconvenience of those few refusing to get vaccinated.
