We learned today that Noah Asimow has written his last piece for the Gazette. It would be a daunting prospect to think of following any Gazette reporter but following Noah will be particularly beastly for anyone. Maybe he is from Chicago, but he caught on to the nuances and perplexities of Island life seemingly effortlessly — the ups and downs, sunny sides and the shady sides — and without a misstep. He reported what he observed and heard with input from the past but without any obvious bias or intrusion of personal opinion. And he wrote about everything with the same deft touch and on the highest journalistic level.

I am really sad to learn that he is moving on, particularly now when the Island needs his sort of incisive, insightful reporting.
