With the derby ending this weekend, the winter ferry schedule starts on Sunday, Oct. 17. Weather permitting, the ferry will operate continuously from 6:30 a.m. through 10 p.m., and then from 11 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Only one ferry will be in service starting Sunday, Oct. 17. It’s the shorter of the two ferryboats. You should plan for longer lines.

You can help speed things up by using a shorter vehicle if you have a choice, remove your trailer hitch or bike rack, avoid the usually busy times and take a cooler with you to keep your ice cream frozen.
