News from Greece. Toby Riseborough and Aaron Petrella have sent me wonderful pictures of the Acropolis Museum and the Temple of Hephaestus while on their tour. As expected with these two, many photos of their meals have come in. The weather looks perfect. Safe travels.

The Artisans Festival will open this weekend. Get to the Grange Hall on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and reconnect with your favorite artists. Belden K. Radcliffe is one of mine.

The Sunday food and fair at the field in Oak Bluffs’ Washington Park will also open this weekend. Live music and Norma Sigelman’s exquisite jewelry are available for your pleasure.

The prom went off beautifully last Saturday night. Many of our kids had their pictures taken in all their finery on Ernie Boch’s lawn before the festivities.

The season has gotten off to a running start. Taylor Breth competed in her fourth half-marathon last weekend. The 28th annual MV Marathon — a benefit for our Hospice and Palliative Care — takes place this weekend. This year you may choose to enter to run in person or virtually. Registration ends May 28.

Geovane Meikle has his first place-winning artwork now hanging in our hospital lobby. Stop by and enjoy his creation.

Beautiful Daisy Perez married Garret last weekend in Taunton. Stop by Cumby’s and wish them well.

After 35 years on MVY Radio, Shawn Taylor has retired. Sweet retirement to her.

Our first First Friday will be held downtown on June 3. Live music, food, art and vendors. The bonfires at Owen Park won’t begin until July. I’ll see you there.

Our town picnic returns this Monday. Seems like a longtime since the lockdown.

We offer condolences to Laura Beckman on the passing of her beautiful dog, Sweet Olive. I know they gave each other the best of lives.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Jim Gardella and Ambrose Seward on May 23. Bob Dylan turned 81 on May 24. And on May 25 our NAACP of MV president, Arthur Hardy-Doubleday and Maggie May Riseborough took the cake. Many happy returns.
