Emily Bramhall, executive director of the Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation, will step down at the end of the year after more than six years at the helm, the organization announced.

Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation has operated as an endowed trust since its founding in 1982, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships to Island students and nonprofits annually.

Ms. Bramhall joined the board of what was long known as The Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard in 2008, a press release said. She moved from chair of the board to executive director on an interim basis in 2016, and oversaw a name change in 2020 to reflect its new vision.

A search committee for a new executive director is underway, chaired by board members Alec Walsh of Chilmark and Julie Fay of Tisbury. Interested individuals should send letters of interest and a resume to apply@marthasvineyardcf.org.
