Water in plastic bottles will soon be a thing of the past at the snack bar counters aboard Steamship Authority ferries, according to an announcement from the SSA.

The boat line's longtime food and beverage concessionnaire, which recently changed its name from Centerplate to Sodexho Live!, will be phasing in 16-ounce resealable cans of drinking water from the Open Water brand, which produces both still and sparkling water in 100 per cent recyclable aluminum cans, according to the announcement
