We have some weather coming and I hope it does not interfere with your travel plans for this busy weekend. Stay safe and warm.

Joyce Stiles Tucker, director of our Tisbury Council on Aging, has received an award of recognition from the Massachusetts Council on Aging. Joyce has been singled out for her fine work for seniors, their caregivers and families, especially those dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Joyce is an active part of our community and a true gift to our town.

Hanukkah continues for a few more days. Happiness and peace to all who celebrate.

Searching for gifts should take you to Heather Gardens and Mocha Mott’s. Don’t forget Louisa Gould’s gallery on Main street, with her exhibit of Small Wonders and the annual sale. Very close to Louisa is Night Heron Gallery, with amazing one of a kind works from Island artisans.

The Vineyard Playhouse has a delightful calendar for sale with artwork by many of our talented friends. Dale Ferry is one of the artists.

There is a statewide contest for K through 12 students for the new Junior Duck Stamp. Your schools should have the information on submissions.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Catherine Brennan on Dec. 14. Tania Laslovitch and Ross Willey celebrated on Dec. 15. Christian Ciancio took the cake at age 12 on Dec. 21.

And on Sunday morning, in your hearts, in your homes and under your trees, may you all find peace.
