Tonight's full moon, the Ice Moon, appears in the zodiacal constellation Gemini. Take a look and you'll see the moon in close proximity to the two brightest stars in the constellation Pollux and Castor. Pollux is the brighter of the two and the brightest star in the constellation. The moon forms a nice triangle with the two.

If you venture out at midnight you'll see the threesome overhead, almost at our zenith. There is no zodiac constellation higher. This should be no surprise. The full moon resides in Gemini nearest to the first day of winter. And in summer, though you can't see it, our sun resides in Gemini during on the first day of Summer, and in June and into July.

The constellation Gemini has importance for us. The constellation is rich in many visible stars in the Milky Way. It is one of the brighest star fields in the sky along with the constellations Orion and Auriga. The constellation has one bright star cluster along with several nebula. In mythology, the constellation depicts twins.
