Regardless of how you feel about the transfer of “control” of the critical/valuable Norton Point Beach, I imagine all of us care that the best stewardship possible be in place. I am disheartened by recent articles indicating that The Trustees of Reservations, in giving up management to Edgartown, also suggest that grant-funded projects in process be suspended. It’s enough to make me question my annual monetary support to the Trustees.

While I wasn’t 100 per cent in support of the Trustees “losing” this to Edgartown, I ultimately only care about protection in perpetuity of this remarkable barrier beach. I’d expect no less from The Trustees of Reservations.
