Water Tasting by the Sea, the primary fundraising event for Vineyard House, has been announced for July 27. The annual fundraiser will be held at the Friedman Estate on Oyster Pond on Edgartown’s South Shore. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. and includes a buffet and wide selection of still and sparkling waters. Music will be provided by Rose Guerin and Jeremy Berlin.

Vineyard House is the Island’s only sober living community. The nonprofit organization was founded in 1997 by a group of concerned Islanders. Nearing its 10th year at its 2.5-acre Vineyard Haven campus with five buildings totaling 12,000 square feet, Vineyard House provides temporary housing in a healthy, supportive environment for up to 24 men and women at a time.

Funds raised at the Water Tasting underwrite costs not covered by rent paid by residents. Tickets are $125 in advance (an early bird rate that ends April 15) and $150 thereafter.
