Samantha R. Gitschier and Khalid L. Dore were married on Nov. 4 at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown.

The bride is the daughter of Jennifer A. Gitschier and Stephen A. Gitschier of Leicester. The groom is the son of Maurice R. Dore and Susan L. Dore of Edgartown.

Samantha works as the executive assistant for the Tisbury police department and is the deputy emergency management director for the town of Tisbury. She attended Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School, and has a bachelor of science in criminal justice degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

Khalid works as a lineman for Eversource, and is the lieutenant on Edgartown Fire Department Engine 2. He graduated from the Martha’s Vineyard High School, and has an associate of science degree in automotive technology from the New England Institute of Technology.
