Martha’s Vineyard Hospital canceled all non-urgent surgeries and other medical visits Friday after a global Microsoft software outage.

The hospital has been unable to access many of its clinical systems, including patient health records and schedules. The outage has hit across the globe, crippling airlines, hospitals and banks.

According to the Associated Press, cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said the cause of the outage was not believed to be a security incident or cyberattack.

All elective and scheduled surgeries at the hospital Friday have been canceled, as well as scheduled visits and imaging.

“Martha’s Vineyard Hospital is open for urgent appointments and procedures, and the emergency department remains open,” the hospital said in a statement. “Mass General Brigham has every available resource working to resolve this, but unfortunately, there isn’t a timeline to resolve this.”
