The Vineyard’s new poet laureate Claudia Taylor will give a reading at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. Joining her onstage will be former poet laureate of West Tisbury Fan Ogilvie.

The reading will take place in Rose Styron Garden and be introduced by Rose Styron.

Ms. Taylor grew up on the Island and works as the programs coordinator at the Edgartown Library. In a previous interview with the Gazette, she described her role as poet laureate as a community endeavor.

“[It’s] about bringing poetry to people who love it,” Ms. Taylor said.
