I heard the chimes of a beautiful bell wafting across the Big Water last weekend. It came from Mass General Hospital. One of our favorite citizens here on Island was ringing it. He had completed an intense course of cancer treatment and was declared cancer-free. Congratulations to him and his family.
Hospice Handmade from the Heart opens it’s shop at the Daniel Fisher House in Edgartown this week and it runs through Dec. 15. This benefits the 43rd year of our Hospice and Palliative Care program on Martha’s Vineyard. All proceeds remain on Island for our people. Cooks, crafters and any artistic talents are welcome to donate their work. Call 508-693-0189 for more information.
Gimple Natrix has her work at the Featherstone Gift Show in Oak Bluffs through Dec. 15. She has cuff bracelets, bowls, vessels and film flowers available. Be sure to check out this wonderful gallery.
Susan Shea has been sending fabulous photos of her second vacation in Sedona. I spent some time there. So beautiful!
I heard sad news this morning. A man I have followed since high school, an erudite linguist and philosopher, Noam Chomsky, is 95 and has lost his ability to write and speak. Thank you, Noam, for your guidance.
Bill Anderson, a wonderful friend from Oak Bluffs, has passed. Condolences to his family and many friends.
Patricia Ann Koohy has passed. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many. We shall miss her.
The birthday bandwagon pulled along Craig Tankard on Nov. 3. Many happy returns.
