Yay, the school buses are back. I hope all our kids and teachers had a great week off.
We must thank Leslie Clapp for devoting 30 years to building our Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living. She has done a fabulous job. This agency is devoted to Island seniors. Meanwhile, Mary Holmes who has been the Supportive Day supervisor is moving to executive director there. If you have any questions at all about their services, call Mary at 508-939-9440, ext. 102. We are so grateful to these women.
Speaking of women, March 8 is International Women’s Day. Any demos at Five Corners?
The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse is always very active. The organization has added so much to our town by their programs. For instance, Monday Night at the Movies, offers an array of fabulous films. It starts at 6 p.m. and the cost is a mere $5 at the door.
The playhouse has already opened registration for summer programs for our kids. Summer Stars Children’s Theater class will run from June 23 through August 15.
Our high school hockey teams, both boys and girls, did not succeed last Thursday in their games but they succeeded in our hearts. Thank you to both teams for your enthusiasm and participation.
Get well wishes to Tac Cruz. My dear friend had never been to Boston. Well, she can cross that off her bucket list now. She was transported by ambulance last Tuesday to Beth Israel Deaconess. She is now doing much better.
On Monday, March 3 Sam Benjamin turned 21. Many happy returns.
