We have big news, the shy torbi cat Nellie has adoption pending! We’re all just delighted for her and are praying all works out for the best.

Our pet of the week is Annie, a medium hair, torbi cat. We’re not sure of her exact age but she is believed to be under five years old. Annie is a petite girl with a bobbed tail who can be described as a very sweet, friendly and kind. And she loves to be around people. She would make a wonderful addition to any home so come meet her and see if she’s the one for you.

Also available are Molly and Mia, two very friendly Guinea Pigs. Molly is four years old with brown and white markings. Mia, who is three, is a calico with a black face. These girls are well socialized, sweet and come with a cage if needed.

Mark your calendars for the annual rabies clinic. The date is April 5 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the West Tisbury public safety building on State Road. The fee is $25 per pet; dogs must be leashed and cats in carriers. And remember to bring a copy of your previous rabies vaccination certificate.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: 508-627-8662.
